Meet Dr. Mumby
Dr. William W. Mumby, President of Mumby & Simmons Dental Consultants, PC earned a BA in Public Administration from American University in 1972, and a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Maryland College of Dental Surgery in 1981 where as a Sophomore he developed and established the Freeman-King Minority Scholarship, a program adopted by the National Dental Association as a prototype to be utilized in member schools throughout the nation.
After completing Dental School, Dr. Mumby completed a General Practice Residency at the Historic Provident Hospital in Baltimore, MD. He later held the position of Chief Dental Consultant at the Lutheran Hospital, also in Baltimore. Dr. Mumby served on the Board of Visitors at the University Of Maryland College Of Dental Surgery from 1996-2004.
In addition to the establishment of Mumby & Simmons Dental Consultants, PC, Dr. Mumby has managed the Dental Correctional Contracts in the New Jersey Division of Corrections in Camden County, and the Philadelphia Prison System. He served as Chief Consultant for the Assessment Project with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, as well as developed and administered dental programs with a manage care approach for community based medical facilities throughout the Baltimore area while owning and managing two Private Offices.
